Hardi Kurda
Hardi Kurda is a sound artist, improviser, and composer with PhD in music from Goldsmiths University of London. He is the founder of SPCAE21, a sound art and experimental music platform based in Slemani, Kurdistan. He is also the founder of Archive Khanah, an interactive sound archive project that uses computer gaming technology to shape listening experiences.
Hardi was the very first fellow of Cewar. During his residency period in February 2025, Hardi explored the intersection of sound, community, and cultural preservation through the Being.Lost Exhibition. In this exhibition Hardi, in collaboration with curator Niga Salam and photographer Shamal Hisamadin, illuminated the personal and collective stories of families affected by displacement, conflict and the ongoing search for lost loved ones, through images and sound.
